The Discovery Center Museum in Rockford, Illinois has just recently revealed a brand-new hands-on science display, thanks to the assistance ofThermo Fisher Scientific The display, called the Viscosity Tubes display, checks out the principle of viscosity in an enjoyable and interesting method for kids of any ages.

Understanding Viscosity through the Viscosity Tubes Exhibit

The Viscosity Tubes display is comprised of 6 tubes filled with liquids of differing densities or viscosities, in unique colors. Guests can manage and compare the motion of bubbles through the liquids. The display shows how thicker liquids (those with a greater viscosity) supply more resistance than thinner liquids. When a button is pressed, air bubbles are launched into the liquid. By comparing the rate at which the bubbles move, visitors can see the distinctions in the viscosities of the liquids, thus finding out to recognize which liquids are most and least thick.
