FALL RIVER (1420 WBSM)– A long time veteran of the Fall River Police Department was struck by an automobile on Friday night.
According to cops representativeSgt Moses Pereira, the officer– a 17-year veteran of the department– was struck by a car while performing a traffic stop right before 8 p.m. in the location of Robeson Street and Declar Street.
The automobile that struck the officer then left the scene, Pereira stated.

The officer was carried to Rhode Island Hospital with major injuries. He was dealt with and launched a brief time later on.
The event is under examination by the Major Crimes Division, Accident Reconstruction Unit, and the Uniform Division.
