Pictured at center, Anne Chastain, owner of Juniper Cove Winery in Whitney, won 3rd location for her Black Zin Texas red white wine in the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic at the 36th yearly Grapefest held at the Grapevine Convention Center September 15-18. She is envisioned with Mayor of Grapevine, William D. Tate (at right) after getting the bronze medal in the “red: light” classification, that made her white wine among the leading 24 white wines out of the 130 white wines in the competitors from 37 wineries all over the state. Chastain approximated that in between 8,500 and 9,000 individuals remained in participation at the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic, and the guests of the occasion chose their preferred white wines. Chastain stated there were 11 one-and-a-half hour tasting sessions, and while individuals were tasting her white wine, she marketed her winery in hopes that she might bring more individuals to Whitney.
