Orange, Chocolate and Macadamia Nut Biscotti can be coupled with white wine for an intense addition to any vacation celebration.
PHIL MANSFIELDOrange, Chocolate, and Macadamia Nut Biscotti
- 3 cups bread flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 5 eggs
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 1/4 cup sliced macadamia nuts
- 1 1/2 teaspoon orange passion
- 1/2 cup melted chocolate, for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions: Line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Sift together the flour and baking soda.
Whip the eggs, sugar, salt and orange passion with the whip accessory on high speed up until thick and light in color, about 5 minutes. On low speed, mix in the sorted flour mix up until simply integrated. Add the macadamia nuts and mix by hand up until uniformly integrated.
Form the dough into a log 4 inches large by 16 inches long and put on the ready sheet pan. Bake at 300 degrees up until light golden brown and company, about 1 hour. Remove the pan from the oven and cool for 10 minutes. Lower the oven temperature level to 275 degrees.
